All About Me

My mom and I many years ago.  One of my favorite pictures

My name is Laura Jones.  I have a BA with concentrations in French and International Relations from Lenoir-Rhyne University of Hickory, North Carolina.  While in college, my English professors were impressed with my writing and kept urging me to change my major to English but I kept resisting.  Finally, they came to the realization that I would not be graduating with a degree in English but settled for me working as a Peer Tutor in the school's Writing Center, helping my peers write, brainstorm and edit their papers.

Fast forward to modern day, I had been going through the motions of the daily grind and avoiding my art.  I love to paint, draw and create.  Most of all, I like to write.  I have started plays, books, stories and poems.  I felt like I wasn't communicating fully with my fiance so to help him understand me better, I created this blog.  What began as a way to have my fiance understand me quickly grew into something bigger.  I wanted to share what I had to say.  So, by the miracle that is Facebook and social media, search engines and other avenues, I have come to the point where people around the world are reading my blog, my thoughts, and about "La Vie."

So, in short, I am an average, everyday woman by day.  By night, however, I hide in the corners and pages of my blog, my ideas, thoughts and passions coming through.  I paint the world whatever color I see it and rose-colored glasses quickly change colors to fit the mood I am in.  After all, perception is reality and I love mine!
